Error The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges for the website path dotnetnuke

If you are encountered an error while configuring dotnetnuke cms

Unauthorized Access Error

Error Details

File C:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnn621\Portals\_default\\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources
Error The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges for the website path.

do the following

Instead of using the “NetworkService” account that was used in IIS6/7 , the default account is called “ApplicationPoolIdentity” , so this is the account that needs the usual permissions on the website.  This account is not a “real” user account though. To add permissions for it on your website, you will need to open up Windows explorer and do the following:

  • Right click the website folder and select “Properties”
  • Select the “Security” tab
  • Click the “Edit” and then “Add” button
  • Click the “Locations” button and make sure you select your machine.
  • Enter “IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool” in the “Enter the object names to select:” text box.
  • Click the “Check Names” button and click “OK”.
  • You can now select the necessary permissions (typically read, write and modify permissions for the folder and all subfolders is the easiest permission to set)

I got fixed:)

I got it.
Put this code inside your visual web part

<% #if SOME_UNDEFINED_CONSTANT %>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”/_layouts/MicrosoftAjax.js” ></script>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”/_layouts/SP.debug.js”></script>
<% #endif %>

<script type=”text/javascript” language=”javascript”>
ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(test, “sp.js”);

function test() {
this.ClientContext = SPClientContext.get_current();
}
</script>

if you have no MicrosoftAjax.js in your Layout folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\)
download it from here
http://www.4shared.com/document/OO-v3qsg/MicrosoftAjax.html

done; try..

The service is unavailable SharePoint 2010

July 19, 2012 Leave a comment

If you change the password (due to password expiration) of Windows Server 2008. And then try to access SharePoint administration site, you will get a message

The service is unavailable

To resolve this you have to set new password in SharePoint Application pools in IIS Configuration Manager

Right button SharePoint Administration -> Advanced settings

Browse Identity

Click Set and provide new credentials

Click OK.

Try to access SharePoint administration site. You may get another error

Cannot connect to Configuration Database

To resolve this issue you have to set new administrator credentials for MSSQL service too

Click Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools ->  Services

Goto SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) -> Right Button -> Properties

Change the password to new password

Click OK.. and restart the service

Restart IIS.

Access SharePoint administration site, hope all works fine.

If you want to disable password expiration in Windows Server 2008 (not recommended) . do following steps.

If you are a local user

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security and Policy

Account Policies -> Password Policy -> Set Maximum Password Age to zero

Done 🙂

If you are a domain user.. above technique will not work. Do the following

Go Start -> Administrative tools -> Group Policy Management

Right Click on the default domain -> click Edit

Select Policies -> Window Settings -> Security Settings -> Password Policy

Set Maximum Password age to zero

Click OK

Done 🙂
